Past Work | The Listeners
Suspended drawing ‘The Listeners’ seeks to explore moments in time both as remembered (felt) and set down (recorded). There is a linking of scenario through composition and subject, the listeners are strangely not there on both occasions, although the image suggests a witnessing of events without being fully present. Walter de la Mare explores this notion of awareness of presence and inevitable isolation one can experience in his poem the Listeners 1912.
